ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Gates India Pvt Ltd. has entered into an arrangement with TeamLease Skill University & TeamLease Skill Foundation for promoting education, and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly, and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects
TeamLease Skills University (TLSU) is one of the first private university located in Tarsali, Vadodara, Gujarat is focused in contributing young workforce productivity, socioeconomic development and social harmony through academic, research, training and extension programs. TeamLease Foundation is training center which work on developing skills through apprentice program. “It is based on combination of formal education (in a class room and on-line) and a program to gain field experience with workplace practice.
Gates India is providing support to them by deputing Student Trainees at various location of Lalru, Faridabad & Pune. Gates India is following NEEM (National Employability Enhancement Mission) regulations by ministry of HRD, Govt. of India under NETAP (National Employability through Apprenticeship Program). Joining hands with them is with aim to help unemployed youth to build skills through Learning by doing and Learning while earning along with providing them with access to practical skills.
For this activity, both Gates India & TLSU have also obtained legal opinion confirming that amount spent by Gates India under such program.
Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water;
A sustainability initiative
As part of the corporate emphasis on contributing to the welfare of planet and the people, Gates participated in ‘Paper Marathon’ campaign of Rhythm of Life, an NGO. Gates provided 81 Kgs of recyclable material to the NGO on 8th June, 2016. This contribution has been used by the organization to provide stationary to the children in the centers run by it.
Tree plantation drive
Gates India carried out tree plantation at Jopadevi Temple, in village Khalumbre of district Chakan (Maharashtra) on 2nd August, 2016. The initiative is part of the government’s campaign of planting two crore trees in the state. The drive began in presence of Mr Manoj Saxena, India Operation Director, Gates India. 300 trees were presented to Khalumbre Gram Panchayat by the company.
